ABOUT RIVER FOREST

River Forest is a neighborhood of 211 homes situated on 16 cul-de-sacs and the streets that connect them. It was first developed in 1992 and covers roughly 60 acres in north Bedford. Children in River Forest attend schools that are part of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford (HEB) school district: Meadow Creek Elementary, Harwood Junior High, and Trinity High School. River Forest is located within easy driving distance of both Fort Worth and Dallas, as well as area attractions. For example, it is

    • 10 minutes from DFW International Airport; 
    • 20 minutes from downtown Fort Worth; 
    • 30 minutes from downtown Dallas; and 
    • 15 minutes from Arlington’s “Entertainment District,” which includes 
      • Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Park
      • Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium
      • Six Flags over Texas amusement park
      • Hurricane Harbor water park

ABOUT THE RIVER FOREST HOMEOWNERS’ ASSOCIATION

The River Forest Homeowners’ Association (RFHA) sponsors several events each year. Among them have been Christmas decoration contests, neighborhood garage sales, 4th of July kids’ parades, and neighborhood block partys. The Association also maintains the common areas in River Forest, which include a ½-mile linear walking/jogging trail. Mandatory annual dues are currently $300 per lot and support maintenance and beautification of the neighborhood, as well as social activities and contest prizes.

ABOUT BEDFORD

Bedford is located in northeast Tarrant County. It was first settled in the 1850s, and was incorporated in 1953. Since then, its population has grown from over 49,000 (2019). It covers 10 square miles, including almost 140 acres of city park space. The largest park, Generations Park at the Boys Ranch, accounts for 68 acres and includes its own water park, recreation center, baseball/softball fields, and playgrounds.
